I see Liverpool as away fans and home fans, and they were no different to Chelsea Everton or Manchester United fans.
They had their undesirables. The majority of fans at Hillsborough that day were good decent people out for a good day.
Not every person supporting Liverpool was good..
The young men and women that died that day were innocent this was never their fault.
To say Liverpool fans as a whole were innocent is inaccurate and wrong.

The fans were, despite appalling mistreatment by the French police, and shocking mismanagement by both French and UEFA authorities, very well-behaved.
Embedded UK police stated so at the time.
Fans did too, at the time.
Reporters did too, at the time.
Much of this live-streamed.
And, despite all of this, the French authorities and UEFA doubled down, and pointed the finger at the fans, thinking they'd have easy scapegoats for their criminal negligence and acts (the report said, were it not for the excellent behaviour of the Liverpool fans, "fatalities were likely").

Policing in the days of Hillsborough was rotten
They herded football fans like cattle.
Would never do that to people waiting to watch opera.

Don't like Fifa UAFA or the English football Authorities.
Been treated bad by Europe Police while watching football abroad. Policing in this country has Improved but so has fans behaviour.
French Police have learned nothing.
Some Europe Police have been brilliant.
Same can be said of fans
