Because the forum is displaying a valid page (the not available due to maintenance page), that link will always show the site as healthy...

"Our TalkScrewfix forum is currently down as a new forum is being installed on our website. This new forum with new functions is currently planned to be available next week."

oh yes read a few lines then he bored me.
just had a look at the new forum.
who designed that it's a load of shi*e the old one was better layout.

Might be back up, but it certainly isn't running.
I couldn't log in although I followed the instructions exactly. I've had to set up another email account and so another SF forum account.
Today when replying to a post, I typed my reply into the box provided and pressed reply to post. Got an error message telling me the reply box was blank (ie no message in it)
Typed out a reply in the box below that and hit reply and bingo Got a reply up.
Last night at 7:00pm there were only 34 people registered with the new site, so it's very slow over there. I think it's been down for far too long and now when people come back they have problems logging in and so think "Forget it." Too much trouble.
Perhaps this is what SF wanted in the first place. Give it a few weeks then I reckon it will be removed or down forever.
