SDS - why?

that's an interesting point

I need to drill a new bolt hole into concrete, where the old bolt snapped off about 50mm in (it's actually a coach screw in plasplug)

I will try to angle slightly to avoid it, but will an ordinary SDS masonry bit go through it if they meet? It's a 10mm hole IIRC.

Could you drill the coach screw out, then the plasplug, then re-fix with similar? If you are adamant on using the old hole, I'd rather try fetching a coach screw out, than a snapped drill bit......

the holes in the foot are oval, so I will attempt to avoid the old screw, and can slant the drill a bit.

I have grouted the old hole with sand and cement to try to stop the new hole breaking through.

I think the screw must have been rather soft and weak.

The ones I did in the next batch, I cast steel studding into the concrete
