Seal grout

Can you guys help me,i am just about to start tiling a wet room and wanted to make the grout waterproof.I see on a posy here that normal grout is not waterproof.Is there a way to seal this and make it waterproof.

What surface prep have you done ie tanking? Don't expect grout to keep the water in.

Its a new wet room and taking allready done,just wanted to waterproof the grout and stop and growth on mould and the stains
 
Dunlop do a waterproof grout but the shower area should be tanked as mentioned, more info here and you can download the details from there.

If you go for a BAL grout you can add their GT1 additive to improve it's properties. This will reduce the permeability to a degree. Having said that, as Jason mentioned, it's the tanking that'll save you from getting drips in the rooms below. If your subfloor is sound and stable then you should have no problems with a well tanked floor that's been grouted with BAL. Even better if you use the additive.
 
As gcol says GT1 will enhance the grouts propertiles but make sure you clean all traces of grout off as the GT1 makes it harder to clean and is a job to remove once its dried. Oh and its not cheap either :(
