Seperate burglar alarm from other breakers?

Hi all

Our burglar alarm was cut, disconnected when we got the house rewired. It's not connected to the new RCD box.
I am going to get the burglar alarm reconnected but wanted to know if its possible to connect it in such a way that it's on a fuse spark or isolated so if it becomes faulty I can simply press a switch and it disconnects it from the RCD box and nothing else on the RCD box will be affected?

Yes, you just need a double-pole switch for the alarm wherever its supply comes from - or a plug you can remove from a socket.

Thanks I'll ask the electrician when he comes to reconnect the burglar alarm to fit either a double pole switch or a plug I can remove from a socket. There's no plug on the end of it at the moment.

I presume it will still need to be added to one of these breakers in the picture but I can isolate it if I ask the electrician to fit a double pole switch near the RCD box correct? So if it's faulty I just switch it off on the double pole switch and nothing else on the breaker it's connected to will be affected correct?

Actually a Fused Connector Unit (FCU); the cable is the spur.

That new CU isn't ideal as there are no spare ways as far as I can see.

That seems to be an extremely popular thing to do these days and I'm starting to find 'additional works' being attatched to the SPD breaker

The alarm can be added to a lighting circuit - or any other circuit for that matter.

It can be argued that this is better as you will more likely notice if the power to the alarm is off.

Ohh it was just additional information that the socket outdoor and kitchen Sockets were added to circuit 3 the electrican added as a sticker on outside of the RCD unit. Nothing important.

Can I ask him to add the burglar alarm to any circuit as would rather it was added to the loft circuit which the loft is the least important.

The alarm in question is a burglar alarm; not a fire alarm.
