J'ai entenduque...... non, je ne peut pas dire ca!
Thats a job I would have to hesitate about, not because of the task but because the customer seems to expect a "service" whereas its a repair which is needed.
We charge just £55 for a service in our local area but thats for..... a service! It assumes the boiler is in proper working order and fulfills all the normal expectations.
From what has been said the boiler has a fault! We would charge £106 to repair that although we would do a service at the same time.
Kevin stays in Southampton but he seems a little silent at the moment. Perhaps he has popped back to Ghana for some foufou?

With respect, it needs the repair, but is also (overdue) a service, so it makes sense whilst the boiler is stripped to service it as well. So yes, a repair, and yes, a service, but I would expect to pay for both of these. Hopefully the cost of providing these would be lower than if there were two seperate visits.
Perhaps I should arrange for the repair, then arrange the same person to come round 2 days later for a boiler service. i'm sure the extra travelling time and diesel cost would be appreciated by whoever does the job, after all it's not like they're in business to make money, is it!
Most of the time we take is getting to the property and what we do while there often takes less time.
The point I was trying to make is that your boiler needs a repair and at the same time a service. We do a service anyway when we do a repair and usually at no or little more cost.
However, we respond quickly to a repair but fit in a service when we can and encourage this during the summer months.
Perhaps you did not intend it but your first post sounded as if you wanted the boiler serviced and "while there" to fit a new part to do a repair. Whilst I cannot comment on others, we charge fixed prices for servicing and for repairs and would not do a repair within a ( lower priced ) service at the cost of a service.
Then surely in me combining jobs, the repair and the service, this is beneficial as you're travelling less (time you're not paid for) and working more (time you are paid for)

I fail to see how "I have a Worcester Bosch 24CDi (case reads 24 LE but Manual is a CDi, pic of boiler attached), and the boiler requires its annual service.
There is one fault I am aware of that occured last week- the boiler is not responding to the hot tap, so you have to switch the heating on to get hot water- I imagine diaphragm or hot water sensor at fault. I would like this fault attended to at the same time." reads as "give me a service and do the repair free" but clearly this is how you have read it.
As you say, you can't comment for others, and as you are not in my area anyway, I will wait for someone who is in my area to comment in a useful manner.
