I have a friend who is an old actor who still likes to do a few jobs each week.
His house is pretty cluttered.
A few weeks ago he returned home after a few days to find water leaking from the loft.
He called the neighbour and then me. I helped them turn off the loft water.
The next day I went and discovered a LP pipe in the loft had burst. A fair amount of water had escaped and brought the ceilings down in both back rooms upstairs and and both downstairs.
A week later the loss adjuster came and told him that everything would need to be removed and put into storage. He was devastated.
There is no damage to the front of the house! Will the insurance firm really insist on this in spite of the extra costs?
