anyone know of any thing that you can use to "oil" a shower door, its very noisy apparantly, its not mine so i dont know the full problme but id like to go in with some ideas, apparantly wd40 and vasaline has been used.

any feedback (sensible) gladly received thanks.

Silicone spray; much better than WD40 which is actually not a lubricant but a water dispersant.
 
Silicone grease will work better and last longer than silicone spray.

cheers guys, never came across it to be honest, but i dont fit shower doors i just wreck them when they need to come down! ;)
 
these people claim to be spraying it on their shoes, spectacles, hair, zips, corsets and watchstraps

they must smell very odd :eek:

Yea but experience speaks louder, if you've ever used WD40 instead of a proper lubricant the evidence is clear, you only have to rub a little between your fingers to be able to tell its not very slippy, it only contains 15% oil afterall. You'll also find that the manufacturer recommends 3-in-one for lubricating.
 
OK, it's a water dispersant with limited lubrication properties but won't make your shower smell very nice :LOL:

Just heard that John Barry, the bloke who invented WD40 passed away the other day. :cry:
