Hi

I plan to replace an 8kw shower with a 9.5kw one.

The house is around 13 years old.

Should I be concerned that the existing wires might not be able to take the extra power ?

what size are the existin cables?
what size MCB/fuse is on the circuit?

You will probably need to replace the cable.

The likliest size to have been put in for an 8kW shower is 6mm², which is very borderline for 9.5kW.

Put in 10mm², and a 10.5kW shower....
