Hi guys Im new here but hope hope hope someone can help! I am living in an apartment block (4 stories high, i am on the 3rd, with 5 apartments on each floor) and my shower pump has just stopped working.

It is located in the airing cupboard (where I never even look into!) next to the water tank. the indicator light on the switch outside the door is still lighting up when i turn it on, but when i run a tap/the shower the water just tricles out like usual.

The water tank has made alot more noises than usual lately, at weird times like 5am. it makes a clanking rumbling sound (it always has, when the water gets low in it like just after a shower) and i wonder does that have anything to do with it? the water supply is fine, went a bit funny one day but its back to normal now. I did notice that there is a big lid on the water tank and its half off. But since i never go in there i dont see how that could have just happened.

Any help at all would be BRILLIANT tired of washing my hair in the kitchen sink :(

sounds like you have a fortic cylinder.

i would say the rumbling is air in the cylinder.
as you say the water gets low when you have a shower if you keep starving the pump you will end up knackering it or seizing it.

check the fuse to the pump.
then check the pump is not seized.
you may be lucky and its just airlocked.

these cylinders are not ideal for pumps as they don't store enough cold water.
