Issue the wall where screen is to be installed is soft, had lots of issues with this wall fitting backer boards, finding a solid brick to drill into ,using 5 x 60mm plugs and screws. Most of the time the drill just went straight through,( its an old terraced house ).
This wal, the old plaster crumbled and fell off, took the loose off, almost half the bottom, filled the gap with 12mm plaster board, then 12 mm insulated backer board over that, cut a channel out to put in 12x32 mm batton , where the shower screen will be installed, secured with 110mm hammer in fixings , walls are being tiled with 300x600 mm tiles.
With the issue of not having solid brick ,and chances are, pre drilled holes on channel will not hit a brick behind, what is the best way of securing screen, its 800x2000x10mm , pretty heavy.
Did think that the batton , would be enough to screw into , but with it only being 12mm , really not sure.
This wall has been a proper pain , tried also in places using 110mm wall plugs and screws , just would not bite.
Looking at possibly chemical fixing , but if cant get a decent hold in the wall.
Any ideas ? Anyone ??

Could you Knock the plaster off back to brick on that wall?
See what's under

Cant , have put up backer boards up, which is how i realised the wall is crap, drilling into wall , drill bit was just going straight through, big mortar joints ?? put more holes into backer boards than was necessary, Plus i had already knocked off the loose plaster , should have taken a photo of brick wall before filling in with plaster board
