Are you just wanting a trap, or does it have to have that fancy grating on? Several other manufacturers are available, Wirquin, Fluidmaster, Viva to name a few

Yes they are well worth it - McAlpine hi flow trap with a proper brass grate not the pishy plastic crap covers/tops that comes on most of the others.

Of course, the waste/trap is only as good as the fall on the shower waste run, it's where most of the DOIY and Pro mistakes are made IMO. The tray then ends up with poor drainage, especially after a while when it starts to fur up.

Yes they are very easy to clean but have to be cleaned often.

We never fit anything other than McAlpine, even when the customer supplies.
But then we’re biased - it’s all made in Glasgow. By proper local people getting a decent wage.
