We've just moved into a flat, and the survey report when we bought the property noted that the 2 of the PVC windows have silicone sealant in the gap between the sill and the window on the exterior (photo attached... note the black line where the silicone is dirty). It noted in the report that this would stop the sill being able to drain excess water properly as it would 'cover the weep holes', and water would likely pool on the sill until fixed.
They are floor to ceiling windows and the sill is flat, whereas other windows on the property have the usual slanted sill you see on PVC windows.
I am looking at getting this repaired, but I just wanted to sanity check this opinion. The issue makes sense to me, but is removing the silicone 100% the correct course of action? Obviously going to contact a window specialist for a their opinion and a quote, but is there a chance this may cause issues if the silicone is removed? What happens to the water if it is removed? As I'm worried it will just end up going into the masonry/interior of the property.
