If necessary, you can tape the back of the battens or use plastic washers to prevent them contacting the wall.

There is a gap between the floorboards and the wall allowing a little air into the space.

The battens are very useful if you are plastering the wall.

The mould is feeding on something specific in that groove on the skirting. Maybe thin paint and exposed mdf, or thin paint and exposed primer or undercoat. Or just something on the gloss.

There are specific antimould paints, but it may just be a case of cleaning the area and going over with a quality gloss.

First though, just wash the area with a fungicide solution and that may deal with it by leaving a coat of fungicide.

Whatever the condition of the external, which may or may not need dealing with, based on the internal images there is no evidence of a pentrating damp problem causing that mould.
