Small desk project

Good afternoon,

I'm thinking of using some hairpin legs I've acquired to make a desk, the top being a 2000mm x 600mm solid wood worktop. The hair pin legs can take a weight up to 60kg, the wood top is around 45kg, the desk will have fairly standard computer equipment on it.

Will the top need any sort of support attached to the underneath to stop it sagging?

How thick is it? What kind of wood?

38mm, oak.

Visit a furniture shop and see how they construct dining tables of similar dimensions. I think you should expect to have some strengthening.
