All loft conversions in my area have snow melted almost immediately.
Must have heating at full blast.

I saw a reference in an old newspaper article, that when Central heating was starting to get popular, people were proud to see the snow melting on their roofs, because it showed they were rich enough to have a warm house.

Today, people like to see lots of snow on the roof, because it shows they have good insulation.
