On days like this people drawing the dole should be out gritting the side roads, pushing stranded cars out and generally helping get the working population of the country on the move.

They shouldn't be doing anyone else's job, people should be employed by the council to keep roads open. If they haven't got the staff, then they could employ someone on the dole to do the job, and pay them at the appropriate union approved rates.
