Socket in the way of new wall - how to handle?

A quick update: There was about 15cm clearance from the steel, and @trojanhawrs was right, the cables would not come up (double bend around the edge of the joist). I opened the chase, removed the cables and took them up into the ceiling space; replastered the chase, header and footer plates are in, ready to drop the cables through into the new wall tomorrow. I will be able to site the socket on the stud wall near where it was, and will likely extend to have a socket on the other side too, all without needing new chases.
Thanks all for helping me think it through.
