Just a quick question.

I'm in a dorma bungalow with a small sticky out roof extension bit.

In the extended room I first want to install a simple network socket, but further down the line I'm thinking about wiring in an electrical socket.

The socket would attach to a "wall" which is plywood. I'm thinking a standard dry lining plastic box is fine for this purpose, ie something like : https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-2-Gang-Dry-Lining-Box---White/p/710880 and nothing special beyond that is required for mounting to plywood. Does this sound right? I'm thinking about things like fire risk due since it's wood.

It will be fine,

note: depends on the thickness of the plywood. The wings of the dry line boxes are designed for 12mm plasterboard plus a few mm of plaster skim. Most are ok up to 20mm thickness.

Bit difficult to measure how thick it is at this time, but worst case I can 3d print some sort of padding frame to add in a few mm for the wings.

Thanks.

Or even some little pieces of ply fixed at the sides where the lugs go. You could use a hot melt glue gun.

Or if you find a stud, you could fix a metal box to it
