Sockets in the garage

Both switches were always there and they both did the same thing. Turned everything off -

That is wrong.
The point of the fuse is so that the lighting only can be wired in smaller size cable.

Should be:

Armoured Cable --- 3A Fuse --- Light Switch --- Lights

|
Socket --- Socket --- Socket --- (add more sockets if required)

With that, the fuse only protects the lighting part, and if that fuse fails or is switched off, the sockets still work.
