Hi

sorry if this is a silly question or posted in the wrong place, or i explain it poorly, not quite sure in my own head what i am trying to do, but i will try to explain as best i can, sorry if i waffle, i tend to waffle on lol.

right, i live in south france, in the mountains near perpignan, now it rarely rains here and is nearly always sunny, sorry guys, not rubbing it in, just saying how it is, we get 300days of sun a year, now in winter its very hot in the sun in winter, 28 degrees in the sun easily, but, at night in the mountains it drops cold.

the house we have is a pretty large 3 storey concrete structure of about 800 square meters. this takes quite some heating up off boilers at night.

i was thinking that with solar water heating panels i could sort of pre-heat the house. the house can drop coldish in the day even in the sun, houses here are built north/south (to keep cool in the summer) and painted white, so even in the sun in winter the house can be cold in the day. if i could keep warm water running through the rads in the day heated by the sun then in the evening when the boilers kick in the house would have a background heat and would not take as much gas to heat up.

is this possible? I was thinking diverter valves to isolate the boilers from the equation when the sun is up and panesl are hot etc etc

want to be green.

anyone fancy a free hols for the family and help fit something that woudl work ;) we have an empty 5 bed 3 bath apartment with stunning views thats just empty, we are 20kms from the ski slopes for those who like skiing ;) or 45mins from the med beaches for those who like the sun and sand.

if its poss it shouldnt be to hard as i have a 1st floor single storey extension roof that is south facing and gets all the sun and this is along side the cellar where the boilers/tanks and pipework etc are all located.

told you i can waffle ;)

cheers
D
