Solution to all those wires....

I am sure I'm not alone inhaving miles of wires hanging down behind the desk, all just waiting to get tangled around my feet/the cat/ etc. Right now I have the following things all requiring a plug:

PC unit
monitor
speakers
answer machine
router
external hard drive
printer
lamp
shredder


Is there a nice way of simplifying all those wires? No matter how I bundle them up, wrap them up, tie them up, they seem to be in a real mess down there.

Anyone else feel my pain?

I use these Cable Tidies from JML.
Cheap simple and good, available at TJ HUghes and Wilco etc.

You can get wires to pop out at different stages for reaching different plugs and sockets.

Any way to limit the number of plugs required?!? In the old days I recall several devices sharing a plug - maybe that was just the way my Dad used to do it!

there are devices to connect 4 iems to one socket, but unless they are low current (ie all 4 together less than 3A) I would have a safty issue with those.

there are some that you can get rid of, with an IEC multie outlet cable, can find a pic at the moment, you can get up to 3 on one plug so probably yr PC, Monitor, and poss printer.

you could also get an IED multiway, no less cables but the plugboard/plugs are smaller.
