I've heard of similar things over the years, one friend was asked for £50 in cash on arrival when the t&c's were described, it was along the lones of £%0 for callout, £50 for first hour, £50 for subsequent half hours, fortunately my friend was a bit too switched on (unlike his electrics) and declined to engage.
