The first red flag in any 'true' film, is 'inspired by real events'. Ask why it's not a documentary. Because they require corroboration. Not disputing what Ballard may or may not have done, but remain sceptical as to its extent.

Not the same as investigative journalism. Films such as "she said", which exposed the power of money and position.
