Space invaders

One of my projects will be to get my Space invader machine working.

Anyone by chance know anything about these antiques.

Problem is: when posting a coin it will not clock up a credit. Otherwise before this fault it works well.

I've had it for over 15 years. I drove to Buckfastleigh to get it. He may have stole it.

Sounds like the coin is missing a trip switch of some description when it goes in. Take the covers off and see if you can follow the path the coin takes, looking out for any micro switches or sensors on the way which may be out of alignment.

The coin just goes straight through. The little black button that can manually click up credits
... doesn't...

Looking at the pic does the coin travel into the black box, drop down and activate a small lever under the micro switch?
If so, then it's possibly the lever has weakened and not returning to it's home position after the coin goes along it's way.

It's possible that as the coin drops into the blackbox it avtivates a button on the micro switch to close the circuit and, as it rolls away, the circuit opens so allowing one credit. If the micro switch button is jammed in then the command is not being fulfilled. See if you can remove the micro switch and, with it still connected, click the button to see if it operates correctly. If it doesn't then change for a similar one noting if it is n/c or n/o One other possibility is that it works when you press it but the action of coins sliding past over the years has broken/worn away the length of button protruding so the coin misses the actuator. Again, this will need to be replaced.

Let me know how you eventually get on with it.
