French railiways had a similar problem.

Could it be that metric measurements are to blame blame ? four foot eight and one half inches works for the UK
In that article

When you separate the rail operator from the train company," he said, "this is what happens."

I think that is more the issue.

What a surprise that Ellal charged to the defence of Spain. He/she/they don’t like you finding fault with any country in it's blessed EU….
Could you point out where I 'defended' Spain?

I merely pointed out a bigger f*ck up...

IOW had a similar problem when they replaced the Madina Ferry bridge. They opted for a larger bridge and its been plagued with problems. The most frequent is the ramp.

The new Trains builder had a secret contract with tunnel builders to get them more work.

Which of those rail f*ck ups do you think is the worse one?
None of them could beat the one rail f*ckup that failed to get you to the airport when you'd said your goodbyes on here and booked your one-way ticket to the utopian EEA country of your 'partner' that you were allegedly emigrating to?

Are you turning into a PatEx clone? We all know HS2 isn't exactly being covered in glory, however the thread is about a f*** up to do with train procurement in Spain.

The Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda clarified the situation in a statement this week. The error in the definition of the train sizing was detected while still in the design phase, so no train had been manufactured yet and no public expenditure has been produced or incurred as a result of this situation. The error means a redesign is necessary, delaying the manufacturing process.

:ROFLMAO: :)

Anyway.. back on topic, this appears to be a late stage design error causing a delay rather than a need for the trains to get a pimp my ride style chop job.
