Some bloke on the radio runs a company who has developed and built a machine that will turn plastic into oil

But it can't be very efficient, as you will need to use energy to power the conversion process.

Surely much better to burn the plastics cleanly and generate electricity?

I have heard about the plan to put a deposit on anything plastic, that is a brilliant idea. Those people that want the money get it and those who don't that chuck their plastic items in the gutter, they will be rescued by someone who does. What a brilliant system to keep litter down.
