What voltage are they? As I said mains, 240 volt is low voltage.
Actually, it's called 230V (and has been for many years).

But you insist you are in the Irish republic which is different.
It's not different. In all 32-Counties of the All-Ireland Republic the voltage is 230V.

As indeed it is throughout all CENELEC countries.

There are only 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland and it has been like that since the 20's (before you were born no doubt) when in a referendum 6 counties voted to remain in the UK. You must learn to accept referendum results even if you would have voted the other way had you been around.

The voltage in the republic was 220v, not sure what it is now as I'm not there to measure it. In the UK mainland the voltage is and has been for many years 240v, though some people like to call it 230v with wide tolerances. The voltage in the 6 counties is and has been for many years 230v as a compromise as equipment from both the UK and the republic was used there.

It stopped being that several years ago.

They like to call it that because that is what it is.

You are as much in denial as Risteard is.

Right now it 244.8v here. It is not usually this high, nor is it often below 240v. No way has is it possibly 230v.
