I am installing a ptz camera for a guy and lucky enough, he has a socket a few feet away. I haven't checked yet but going by the use of 25mm conduit, I recon 4/6mm.

I want to run a cable from this socket a few feet to an enclosure.

I have only got 2.5mm & 16mm t&e.

Can I use the 2.5mm if I wired it into a fcu in the enclosure or use a single socket if a 16a mcb is used on the existing circuit I want to spur from?

If I can't, I will have to see if I can get a few feet of whatever size of cable is used on that circuit.

You may use 2.5mm² as it will be protected by the fuse(s) in the plug(s).

Single or double socket will be satisfactory - no need for an FCU.
OR
Just an FCU if you hard wire it.

However, it would be prudent to determine for certain the circuit characteristics.
6mm² is extremely unlikely.

Get some 4mm² for the future; it's much nicer than 2.5 and more useful. :)

Thanks for that. I suppose there is no harm in having reel of it.
