Spurs on top of spurs

I have looked everywhere about this, but to no avail. I am sure it is very simple.

My Dad puts spurs on top of spurs, I have told him this is wrong, but when he asked why, I couldn't tell him. So he promptly poo-pooed me!

Help me sort him out!

you cant supply more than one spur from each socket off the ring, so if there is 20 sockets you could have ONE spur per socket, an easy way to get arround this is to put a fused spur in the supply to the first socket, and so limeting the power that can be drawn to 13amps.
