Hi, looking at our options and weighing things up before we take the plunge, current system is a boiler installed (In kitchen) in 1995 and a heat store, we have 3 bedrooms and 11 radiators, 2 bathrooms with 2 showers. I want to go combi so we get the room space back where the current heatstore is, although we won’t be using both showers at once is this the only thing to consider please?

apart from the larger gas pipe to the new boiler will there be everything currently running to the old boiler to allow the install of a combi? The whole house is decorated so I don’t want much disruption ideally.

Thanks.

You need to now your incoming mains flow rate and pressure. No sense having a combi if your mains water supply can't keep up with it

You need to get the water supply coming into your house tested to find out its performance. How good it is will determine whether a combi is appropriate or not, and what boiler power you can have. A basic rear would be to time how long it takes to do a bucket of known capacity from an outside tap.

Also, could you post a couple of photos of your heat store?

Great, just wanted to check what it was. You can have a combi boiler to replace that but you may find that you get a significant drop off in hot water performance - possibly as much as 50%.
