When I was off from school sick, my Nan would look after me... She'd ask how queer I felt. I got awfully upset telling her I was not Queer and that I was just sick.

But in English, words of Romance origin are more often deliberate introductions by persons wishing to show off their education.

Sometimes poorly. Think of "television."

Just think of Buffoon with his second-class degree trying to bamboozle the public.

I meant in America where transport is transportation.

What do you expect from a country that ships everything and has never heard of the word post even though they have postal services such as USPS. - their national postoffice.
