I don't need to fix anything; I was just wondering how anti-scale systems work on steam irons. There appear to be two types. The first is irons with replaceable anti-scale cartridges - What's in the cartridges? Is it some kind of water softener or is it acid for reacting with the limescale?
The second kind is a lifetime anti-scale system. How does that work????
Our iron is the lifetime variety. With previous irons I might fill the tank with vinegar occasionally and run it through it - maybe that would be helpful with this one, but without knowing how the antiscale system is working it is difficult to tell.
Anybody know anything about them?
Thanks
