The saw has been a bit temperamental recently, cleaning the plug with petrol helped a couple of times, then after about a 20 minute run yesterday, it packed up again. Trying the starter whilst holding the plug to the crankcase produced no spark. Went a bought new spark plug for it, still the same issue.

Fuel is getting in as the plug is when when attempting to start normally.

If anyone knows...

Is there anything else I can try before ordering a new lead, (is it available seperately? And is is easy to get to for maintenance?

Thanks

The HT lead and igniter coil are one unit, and its hidden behind the recoil starter cover.
Before jumping in though, just isolate the cut out switch, and see if the spark returns.
You can get pattern bits for these at GHS, and its just over £20 for a replacement coil should you need one.
John :)
