Need to put a subfloor down prior to installing click LVT with in-built underlay (won’t be glued down)

Removed the previous carpet and for some reason there’s old tiles glued down on the outside of the original floorboards (1960s house). These tiles are 2mm thick - see attached pic.

Have 5.5mm SP101 plywood so was thinking there’s two options. Would be great to get a second opinion:

- try and remove all these tiles (in parts looks like somebody has tried previously with not much success!) Tiles are very glued down.

- leave the tiles in place and use 3.6mm plywood for the tiled areas and use 5.5mm plywood for the bare floorboards areas. In theory, this should only leave a difference of 0.1mm in height between the two plywood areas

Many thanks

Thanks, did as you said. Needed to use a multi-tool and took a full day - the glue did not want the tiles to budge!
