btw if anyone can remember I had done well before was sober for a month .....(I know it doesnt sound much but for an alkie ,I was pleased )

Then my life fell apart on news of my late wifes condition awhile ago...

Is it an accroniynm(sp?) for some AA *preachy gospel rule*
after the 12 steps .....an sponsors spying on you like James Bond ,I switched off half the time ...lol

heres one of mine I told my AA team leader/group *STFU ..GTBI* (last bit is... get the beers in )..lol..lol...lol...lol ...which they didnt get so I just left it at that ....

It is indeed an acronym, but don't be too quick to judge the idea Moz - I heard from an alcoholic in remission, and she found it very useful and not at all preachy.

She said that her group was taught to remember it when they felt like a drink, and to use it to examine the temptation and take an alternative action.

The idea is that you 'halt', and ask yourself if you're Hungry, Lonely, Angry, or Tired, and seek out food, company, resolution to the anger, or sleep (respectively).

I'm the last guy in the world to preach, having been there, but what does Wendy think of your drinking? And what would Maria be thinking now?

I know it's not easy and I'm aware it is a disease and as such, you need a course of treatment administered & monitored closely by health care professionals.

Just steer clear of SHH.....

after trying 4 AA Groups now ,
an failing ....................an last time Only failing due to circumstances /my weakness (even my sponsor Gary went back on the ale !)
we are all fallible (sp?) to some degree.......
