Supply to outdoor building tripping

Sorry, I repeated the mistake.
When the cable is fully disconnected at the shed fusebox the tripping does NOT stop.
Thanks again.

The armourcore run also has 2 underground joints (remade with proper resin connectors after a previous trip problem).
Which suggests that the cable has had serious problems in the past and needs to be replaced.

Why are there joints if the cable was properly installed in the first place ? Or was the cable damaged some time after being installed ( gardening spade / fork etc ) and then jointed to repair that damage ? Has it been damaged more recently ?

The cable used to supply two other sheds (between the house and existing shed) that were demolished. He located both joints and resealed a couple of years ago.
There may be other joints that we are not aware of. I think best bet is to have a new length of cable run out to existing shed?

In that case....

You need an Insulation resistance test done on the cable to prove it's servicability.

;)
For there to be any point in doing that there would have to be a fault in the cable which could be identified and resolved without digging it up to repair or replace it.

I can't think of what sort of fault that could be.

Can you?

I wasn't totally clear.
I meant as the final prove before the cable is replaced. If I was sent to a job and the customer said the cable is faulty I would still test it to confirm.
