Surface mounted metal sockets and boxes

Most backboxes would have 2 cables coming in, unless the socket was a leaf on a radial or it was a spur off a ring.
Ah OK so if you're running conduit along at ceiling height you would normally drop the cable down to the socket and back up, rather than send effectively a single spur down to each socket - the cable runs through each socket?
Why is that preferable?

Because you don't introduce unnecessary connections, and in the case of buried wiring you don't want inaccessible connections.

Also, how is he going to test the BG RCD?

Conduit has metal clips?

Wasn't he removing the RCD anyway? as it had one at the house.

Metal clips on conduit probably because of the new regulations, to prevent live cables falling down in the event of the fire and shocking firemen

But, unless I missed something, the conduit saddles were PVC.

Unrelated to the electrical installation - but why are the restraint straps flapping loose? One next to the socket being fitted, and in the rest of the video others don't appear to be fixed either. Should be fixed to the wall, won't do anything otherwise.
