Does anybody have any advice on how to prevent surface water remaining on grass following heavy periods of rain.

I will be doing mine in the next couple of weeks (weather permitting)
I will install the drain lines into a manhole chamber and fit a pump to pump any water via a flexible pipe to a manhole nearby.
