Good morning

We've had a level 3 survey undertaken on a property we are buying, report back states unable to locate planning permission

However Oldham Council shows it has been granted albeit with the side extension they need to contact building control and there's nothing to show this has been actioned. Is this something that is required?

The existence of an application or approval is available to the public, and also the solicitor as part of the LA search process.

Solicitor yes, as part of the conveyancing agreement somewhere in the small print the seller agrees to the buyers solicitor searching and effectively giving BCO permission for them to have access, I'd be doubtful to any old surveyor phoning up without the sellers blessing.

All the building regs applications for property, nothing for side extension
