I'm considering repairing (getting new 600mm x 600mm panels) a suspended ceiling which was installed many years but then taken down (as water pipework was needed) and was never put back up. The room is about 3.6m x 5m. The ceiling is in what's now being used as a kitchen, however the gas cooker in the room has been cut off (elderly mother doesn't need to use gas) and only a microwave and sink are being used.
Are there any regulations I should be aware of when putting a suspended ceiling up? Ceiling panel properties? Is a suspended ceiling in a kitchen legal? The cost of say having someone put a new plasterboard type ceiling is too prohibitive unfortunately so I really need to get this done as cost efficiently as possible plus do it myself.
Any advice much appreciated
