Asking for my daughter who changed two light switches from a plastic to a metal switch, lights not working now. So we have changed the light switch back to being the plastic switch but lights still not working. Other downstairs lights are working so fuse has not blown.

There are 3 live wires and a yellow sleeved wire (strange), the black wires are joined together. The yellow wire is in the comm terminal so that must be the return, then the 3 red are all in L1. We didn't take a photo before it was changed, so have no way of checking to see it is correct. She also changed another light switch which is on the circuit and that is not working, could that be the cause of the problem?

As all the reds and yellow are connected when the switch is on the light should be working anyway.

She also changed another light switch which is on the circuit and that is not working, could that be the cause of the problem?
Could be. Was it working before she did this second switch?

Show a picture of that wiring.

The metal switch will need connecting to the earth wires.

Here is a photo of the other switch. Thanks for your comments

Is there a small red link wire linking COM and L11. That looks wrong if it is.
usually the link wire is between the COM terminals.

That also raises the question as to whether the top and bottom red wires go mixed up.

What room are these switches in ?

What does do anything and what does not?

Start with the 2 gang switch do any of the lights work at all?

I think it’s just 1 way switching
Supply linked through the switches, so not reaching down stream switches ?
scouse49 - Please confirm that there are Three separate lights,
controlled by the Three switches concerned.

If so,
and,
since there are Four Red wires at the Two-Gang switch(es),
ONE of those Red wires will be incoming Line
ONE will be outgoing Line (to the other Single switch)
and
the other TWO will go to each of the Lights to be controlled at that point.

You will need to obtained a (preferably analog) Multimeter (which I am surprised that no one has suggested, so far.)

Then,
disconnect all Red wires at the Two Gang switch
and
determine which is the Incoming Line wire - using an appropriate AC Volts scale on the Multimeter to Earth.

Connect this Incoming Line wire to each of the other Red wires, in turn.
From this you will determine the Two Red wires which go to each of the lights.
(The Fourth Red wire will be the Outgoing Line wire - to the single Switch location.
Mark or Tag the wires appropriately.)

Install the Incoming Line, Outgoing Line and a "Link" Red Wire on one COMMON terminal
and
Link to the other Common Terminal with the Link wire.
Then, connect each of the Red wires identified as going to each of two lights to L11 and L21 - as required.

Connect the EARTH connection to the Earth Terminal on the switch plate,
using a Green/Yellow sleeved Earth wire.

Having got the two lights working from this switch pair.
repeating much the same procedure (now, including the Yellow wire) at the other switch should get the light concerned operating,
although it will probably work as-is.

However, although you wrote "Other downstairs lights are working "
it is likely that (at least) one of the Red wires at that location is an Outgoing Line wire to "somewhere".

Connect the EARTH connection to the Earth Terminal on the switch plate,
using a Green/Yellow sleeved Earth wire at the Single Switch, as well.
