Sorry, I meant inside the switch box.

And is that a disused yellow in the LHS corner of the switch box?

I keep thinking about this one, looking at the wiring I believe this is how it's designed to work:

The fact that the back garden light works as expected points to the 2 switches on the right working ok, On that basis I see nothing there to explain why the front light does not operate in 'night mode', other than the yellow link wires (My 'N') not being sound or the switch left of centre being faulty - when you cover the sensor and see the 'back garden' light come on can you see the front of garage light ( I mean see the actual light fitting)?

We still don't know how you know the 'Back door' light works;
Does it come on in day and night position?
Does it ever come on in 'night' position?

What type of bulbs do you have in each light?

Do you have any test equipment: Multimeter or LED/neon screwdriver?

Bulbs have all been tested. Normal bulbs.
Front of garage lights and back garden lights both work in day and night mode.
The dnd was was working only for the back garden lights not the garage ones !!
Maybe the sensor has packed in. !!

Update.
Front of garage works on day and night mode. Back door works on day and night mode
So do back garden lights.
Yellow wire as mentioned is unused.
