Used Swichmaster mid position valves seem to be a valuable commodity on Ebay, and I've only just found out. Must have binned quite a few working examples away over the years on system conversions, etc.

A customer tipped me off this week. He thought his Switchmaster was playing up and was ready to pay for a used one on Ebay. In the end, it was his cylinder stat at fault and told him would be better to bite the bullet when the Sm. goes and put in a normal 3-port.
So all those with old S/masters in the depths of the van/shed/scrap pile - dust them off and get them on Ebay. Serious beer money to be had.
Never understood what the fuss was all about with these things anyway. Why did people fit them over something like a Honeywell? Suppose they last well, but so damn slow. Every time hw, ch or both is selected, you can make a cup of tea whilst the blue box's little arrow chugs around to the correct point.
