Tado to 'Y' Plan wiring

You make it sound so simple
That’s because Ian’s a consummate professional who’s been doing the job a very long time.
You make it sound so simple, thank you. Can I just ask that when you refer to post 3 you are talking about the Tado wiring diagram and not the Y plan example. If so the Tado receiver also has a wireless thermostat which talks to the receiver and just wondering how that will show on the Y plan wiring diagram. Thanks for your wonderful help, it is very much appreciated
Yes post numbers are in the top right, so the Honeywell Y-plan is post 5. They’re both Y plan diagrams. The receiver is what gets wired in, the wireless part is self explanatory, it’s wireless and is paired, usually at the factory.

Hi, new here, please go easy on me!

I'm trying to rewire my Y plan system with a Tado 3+. I've tried to follow the wiring guide as suggested on #3 but struggling to understand what these symbols represent. Could someone please advise? Many thanks.

It’s to show schematically where a wire goes, but does that as a sort of cross over, so you know which wire it is, otherwise it could go belly up.

Thanks, so using the example of the Tados CH NO connection, that is just a single direct wire to W on the 3 port valve and is not connected to any of 3 other wires the schematic crosses?

struggling to understand what these symbols represent.

The symbols are a way of showing whether a wire crosses, or joins at an intersection on a schematic diagram...

However, are you wiring up your Y-Plan from scratch?
Usually there is an existing programmer - mapping the connections over from an old programmer to the Tado receiver would usually be the simplest way to go.

Thanks for clarifying RandomGrinch.

I'm actually attempting to disconnect & rewire the below junction box. I originally installed the Tado 2 years ago, after following the basic tado guide of rewiring a Siemens programmer to Tado 3+.

It started failing to turn off heating/hot water recently, even though the app said it was off. I bought a new Tado receiver and swapped the wiring like for like, but still having the same problem and thought maybe it's wired incorrectly.

The 3 port valve, pump, plus hot water cylinder have also been changed out recently (a separate fault, pin hole in tank coil).

The fault started before changing all of the above.

Thanks

Thanks

My pump is in the airing cupboard with the Tado and hot water cylinder, a distance from the boiler, where should it wire in to the junction box?
