Got a tap stuck in my 97 Ford F-150 4.6 right side cylinder head, is there anything that I drill it out with?

Of all the forums that could answer that problem for someone in America, I think the last one I would think of signing up to for advice on that would be a U.K. based plumbers forum. Is this the return of you know who?

it could be a real plumbing tap, somehow got sucked through the carb - i'm sure american monster muscle trucks still use carburettors, no shortage of fuel, all actively encouraged by the new environmental minister - drill baby drill

Either get a tap extractor or weld something to it so you can unwind it.

After that your looking at spark erosion which isn't cheap.

Most likely not, they are deliberately made very hard.

You might be able to grip and wind it out.

I think your first step should be to take the head off the engine.

Consider getting a replacement head which is likely to be cheaper and quicker.

Spark erosion is very good but I don't know what it would cost you.

How did the problem arise?

No reply was the answer......
I'd assumed this could be a brass coolant drain down tap, similar to those found in old British cylinder blocks?
If it's an HSS thread cutting tap then there's no chance.
John :)
