Tapping into clay drain pipe

Yes there are two other chambers, one up and one down flow or where I want to tap in, why I was hoping to do it without having another one installed.

Sounds fine just make sure you have rodding access into the pipe you're tapping in with. Basically all runs have to be roddable. If something gets stuck at any point you don't want to be digging the drains up at that point.
However check with someone on site ideally building control but could be a drainage specialist.

Would it be correct to assume that building control aren't involved? If so you can join it with duct tape and tarmac it all over if you like.

Otherwise, its a Y junction and risk assessment for blockages to justify the conection. Some people even go to the extreme of fitting a roddable gulley - but that will be visible unfortunately

Use an Osma bottle gulley inside the garage, and feed the waste and rainwater in via the back inlet. Set the gulley top flush with the finished floor level, and fit a sealed lid instead of the grid, this will allow rodding access to the branch if required. Fit another bottle gulley externally to take the garage rainwater, (if permitted), this allows both laterals to be rodded if required.

I assume the existing main run is accessible at either end from the current chambers?

Thanks. Just to say the connection would be outside the garage. About 3m to the left is an access chamber that will be in the new garage and 6m to the right is another chamber. Both are private. Because there are already two chambers either side of this new connection and I'm intending to block pave the drive I'm hoping to do it without another access chamber cover on the surface.

As long as all the pipework is accessible for rodding from one end or the other, you should be fine. You cannot have a blind lateral that you cannot get to if it needs cleaning.
