Perhaps make cyclists pay a yearly fee to use the roads.
They don’t pay any insurance,tax or anything but are allowed to use the road.
Even charging them £30 a year would generate millions.

Charge pedestrians to cross them maybe.charge dog owners for walking dogs on footpaths.

How is a footpath the same as a road?
If people have to tax,insurance and mot a vehicle on the road then why shouldn’t cyclists pay a small fee to use the same road.

Many reasons..All of which are very well documented if you care to look...Or use a bit of common sense about the difference between a cycle and a car/van/ etc.

A human being is abit different then a bicycle isn’t it.
A cycle is classed as an item of transportation.
So if cyclists don’t have to pay to use a road then why should anybody that owns a motor vehicle have to pay tax,insurance,mot.

Of course it would be good for more people to cycle but if they are going to use the road on an item of transport then they should be under similar rules and regulations that motorists are.

And yet a cycle can use a road without paying any tax, can use a road on a item of transport that doesn’t need to be maintained by law like an mot and also hasn’t got the insurance should they damage a motor vehicle.

Likewise many cars.You are obviously a huge fan of the infernal combustion engine..All in all problems created by bicycles in comparison to motor vehicles are so infintessimly small as to be considered non existant.More people on bikes all over the world would be of huge benefit to mankind.
