Did the engineer come out and install your line ? if you are using b.t as your service provider they are now supposed to provide a extension of the master socket free of charge,this is because of the new wlr3 regulations that bt are trying to get service providers to sign upto,basically the master socket will be external if new build or if new line is provided to a older house it has to go by the most direct route from the d.p to the customer,then the master socket has to be within 3m of entry into premises,then the customer can have a extension to where ever they wish free of charge,(more work for the engineer).
