Texacom premier 24, how can I get it to email me?

fair point. but neither are of any use.

suppose his old mum is staying and (heaven forbid) she falls, how is she going to push a pa?

pathetic

That is the type of comment i would epect from you.

You do not live in th real world, but hey, we are all entitled to an opinion.

I will let any one reading this decide for them selves.

Useful info:

Pa buttons (AKA Personal alarm buttons, pab, HUD, call them what you will) are usualy mounted by the front door, in the hall or by the bed, also in particular the hall and front oor ones will be at aproximatley 1m from floor level.

How is some poor old sod meant to push one if they are lying on the floor and cant move?

and no, you cant poke them with a walking stick either

i also mentioned you can get "this set up" soley for this purpose.

most people will not bother going to the expense of a radio pa. they usualy want the whole lot for £100

exactly my sentiments and the reason for the post - you have a more than rudementary knowledge of alarms, you knew full well there is more than one way of raising a panic signal but try a cheap score all the same

contrary to the opinion you have formed I am out there doing real life installations using the new equipment and techniques - evolving if you will, not just saying its rubbish, doesnt work, whats the need for it.

O/P don`t let the luddites put you off

LOL I have cable monkeys for the install bit nowadays

Hi,

I think this post has gone tits up, Breezer I did not ask for any opinion into why I needed email facility, nor do I want your opinion if its any use or not.

The reason I asked the good people on this forum is because I WANT ONE for my own peace of mind and thats it!

My email account is manned 12 hours per day, if I miss it I miss it, but every one is home at night so the house is well looked after by neighbours,
its during the day when everyone is at work it feels most vulnerable, and this is the time I am on the emails.

The point is I feel the more ways I am alerted the better, and as I am confident in my alarm, if I received the email I could get in touch with someone, somewhere who lives nearby depending on time and day (if not the police)

After being told some one tried to get into your house the other night, of course I will do anything in my power to better my system, and situations like these make you think from a different point of view.

So please, anyone I am just looking for advice on how/if its possible and how much!

If you have anything else to say, start another bloody thread! :p

Is it possible to get a dry relay contact from your alarm panel, I am not familiar with the Texecom premier 24?
What I am thinking is if you have a relay with a dry contact which operates on the alarm you only need to look into how to make a computer etc send an email when a contact is made / broken.
These:clicky according to here: clicky may be programmed up to generate an email from an input.
Hope this helps.

AFAIK there is a dry contact on the premier 24.

Failing that you could use the output to operate a standard 12V DC relay.

Thats what i thought, so the reality is you have lost touch with the real world,.

You call others that do the "simple jobs" cable monkeys, no respect for them. or is it because you pay peanuts.

no I called em that to wind you up

I think not, you can type what you like, it does not bother me (it takes a lot to "rattle my cage") I beleive you really are some one who swans in when the hard work is done which is why they call you blister (oh sorry you didnt know that)
